Ok so this balancer came on the motor i got. There is a vibration above 3k rpm and dosent stop (clutch pushed in etc) So im thinking it has something to do with the motor. I got to looking at the balancer at it says "PB 34oz/in Part# im guessing is 3622. I have a 50oz Fidanza flywheel. WTF. Is this what it says it is 34oz? Could this be the problem? I tried google with no results.

PB is probably Powerbond which is a pretty good brand of balancer for the money. I also do not see that part number on their site though.

Pull it and put a sticker on and see if the vibration is still there I had the same problem with a different brand balancer but it was already too late it had chewed the mains up

Can you mix match weights here or what? Why would someone put this on it with a 50oz flywheel?? And I still cant find this no where to verify what it is. Part# on the back is pb-10-08

I found this. It may shine a little light on the issue.

Part number #PB1008N is for a late 60's Ford 289 from the PowerBond catalog. Not the exact part number as yours, but close.....lower left page 44:

Throw a stock 50 oz balancer on it and see if the vibration goes away....

Shouldn't really mix match 28/34/50 oz balancers and flywheels unless it's got some type of custom whacked out balancing....which I would doubt.

If the vibe doesn't go away with the 50 oz balancer, then put on a 28 oz flywheel on with the 34 oz balancer and see if the vibe disappears.

Or, ask the cat you bought it from and see how it was balanced etc.

No engine vibration is a good thing and if it is still vibrating no u can't use it, vibration = bearing failure

Fidanza 50oz flywheel, Ram clutch. Im trying to get my hands on a stock balancer so well see. And i did ask the guy who had the motor. He said it has been on there. Soooo.... I dunno. I hate getting already BUILT motors. But i really do appreciate the advice guy. And until now ive never even heard of 34oz anything. 0,24,50.

I agree that it is very confusing. i have read all kinds of stuff and I agree with throwing a stock balancer on it and go from there.
