What shifter are you guys going with for the 2011 and up. I like mine but wouldnt mind a shorter precise feel.

I would like to retain the factory reverse lock out.

so far barton is a front runner with what I have seen and shortness of travel

MGW retains the lockout.

I like the reverse lockout. I looked into the hurst but no lockout. barton looks great , has the lockout, and looks like you can install it without getting under the car.

From what I've read, it seems MGW and Barton are the front runners. I'm leaning towards the Mgw myself. I remember all the testing he did and making sure it was perfect before be released it.
I think that's why I'm sold on it.

Just spoke to MGW VP George again today. This is the one I will be going with as soon as I can. 30% reduction in throw. Enough to help, not so much it turns into a "notch fest".

Its down to those two. mgw or the barton. The mgw seems harder to install than the barton and I like the very short throw of it as well.

I test drove a new '13 and thought the shifter was "vague" at best (more like a point-and-pray). I'm glad this thread came up, just to see what options are out there for someone contemplating buying a new 5.0

I like the hight and feel of the stock shifter and all the gears are smooth. 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 is nice. but the throw is to long and the 4 to 5 and 5 to 6 is an odd position. Its like fondling the passinger putting it in 6.

The MGW is in. Feels very nice in the car. Super nice piece.

He sends a nice sound deadner piece. You hear just a very tiny amount of trans noice compared to the stock shifter. Much more minimal than lots of shifters.

The throw is great, 7500 rpm shifts on the mt82, and going into gear really nice.

Didn't have any trouble before, but it's even better now.

who put it in and what was involved. I have seen some where you need to take a bolt off the brace under the car and also others like the barton where everything is done from inside the car.

Go to the website Sean. They have the complete two part video installation process.
