I recently got the car out of the garage a few times and I have noticed a vibration that is seeming to be getting worse. I have a feeling that it is the rear U joint. It is worse when coasting than when in the throttle. It also vibrates pretty bad at cruising speed in 5th or 6th gear. I haven't had any time to get the car in the air to look. Just wondered what you guys thought.

Better or worse when the clutch is pressed in?

How old is the clutch and stuff. If it was a u joint it should do it all the time when the car is moving and not differ weather the clutch is pressed in or not. U joints are easy to inspect tho. Check them 1st then work your way forward.

Clutch has maybe 500 miles on 3 years... But I think it makes noise the vibration even when the clutch is not engaged. It just seems to get worse when the clutch is engaged because the car is not under power.

Thing is we are all shooting in the dark til you get under it and start looking around. You wont ever know what it is.

That is what I figured.. I will get around to it at some point. It is not on the priority list seeing how I have driven the car maybe a dozen times in the last 2 years.. Its back at dads garage until I make time for it.

I don't think this is your problem but just an FYI...
Cars that sit for long periods can flat spot the tires. Some tires are more prone to this than others. I had a set of Traction T/A's that would get real bad but after driving it for awhile it would finally get a little better.
Like above check your u-joints also check the wheels for missing weights or a bulge in the tread (broken belt). these are quick and easy things to check first before digging further.

I had the same thing happened to me. My car sat for like 5 months. I took it for a ride on the highway and it had a vibration. I freaked out. I was told to give it some time and see what happens. It was gone after a few days of driving it. I hope yours is something simple.
