If you were going to sell a used car, where would you advertise it, besides Craigslist?

On Stangbangerz... what about cars.com? The more people you reach the better your odds are. Im sure some others will chime in.

Yeah SBZ is a good place. I bought a car off here. Cincystreetscene.com or Extremestreetcars.com. Some of the same people on there but not all of them are on here.

Ummm. SBZ didn't work too well! Wound up in the whipping room before I even read replies! I'll try some of those others, thanks!

cincystreet can be a bit of a challenge.. lol

I know a lot of proplr knock c/l but I buy and sell a ton of things there. You just have to be smart about what your doing.

Pm me what you would take for what ever your selling and I will talk to the guys where I work. We buy quite a few cars from private owners.

Remember the good old days of the "Trading Post"? I would buy one ever Thursday and spend hours reading through it. Of course, this was before Al Gore invented the internet.

Considering that retail Black Book is $17k on the 2005, I would look mostly at enthusiast-type sites where you can get people to pay a premium and would look at the mods as a positive, not a negative.

I think eBay is a good idea...if nothing else put it on at a reasonably high reserve and see what the market actually brings.

On a related note, what about consigning it to an auction like Mecum (http://www.mecum.com/sell.cfm)? The Fall Premiere in St. Charles, IL might be a good place to take it, if you need to get the $22k out of it.

Other than that, I'd put it up on Racingjunk.com and some of the national Mustang boards (Corral, Stangnet, etc). You'll have to deal with some of the general assclownery on those sites, but it'll put the car in front of the eyes that need to see it to get the money that you want out of it.

Blue book on this with the options it has, low mileage, and excellent condition, which it is, sits at $19,843. With the extra wheels and hood and a couple other things, I don't think the asking price is unreasonable.

Not being a member on other forums, same rules as here, I wouldn't/don't have enough posts to advertise on corral.net, etc. Haven't heard of Mecum, but I'll check into it. Beauty of the whole thing is I don't have to sell it, just want to. And I'm very patient!! Thanks for all of the tips! I do appreciate them immensely.

Talking form experience your mods mean nothing to the sale price these days. You don't even want to know what I let my 05 go for...... Lets just say I would have been thrilled to get $22k out of mine.

Kelly Blue Book has little to do with the actual value of a car. The black book Gene mentioned is what dealers go by and unfortunately to 99% of the buying public mods are at the very least a non-issue if not a turn off. You can search for complete auctions on Ebay to see what similar cars are going for which should give you a pretty good idea of people on there are willing to pay.

Lots of things to consider. If it sells, good, if not, also good. We'll see where this first round of advertising takes me. Have also been advised to take it all back to stock and sell as a low mileage car.

I sold my 00 Trans Am WS6 a little over a year ago...had a new 6.0L, built tranny and lots of other mods. Only had 52,000 miles on it, ran 11.7s....I probably had over $25k in it, sold it for $12,750. I wish you the best of luck.
