What is the general opnion?

So I put the BBK long tube headers on my Fairmont (1 5/8 - 3 in collector) The exhaust that came with the car doesn't fit now and the BBK's have a ball and socket flange that is nice except it chokes down to less the 2.5in AND BBK does not sell a 3in x pipe to fit it. What to most guys do? do you guys cut the ball and flange off the brand new headers (cringe) or....??? I have 3in mufflers and tail pipes to use with what ever and I may be able to mod the x pipe I have to slip fit the headers with flange removed or I may just buy the 3in universal x kit at Summit and start fresh.... Sorry to ramble ... Thoughts?

On my old BBK ball flanged longtubes, I took a cutoff wheel to the ball end and took quite a bit off the ball which opened it up. You just need to make sure you leave enough for a good seal. I've also seen guys cut off the socket and set it up for a 3 bolt flange.

Get with spintech. They purchased Dr. gas. They will make all most what ever you want. 3" should not be a problem. We order special items all the time. And its available in stainless.

On mine jus cut flange off an slip fit a 3" universal x pipe an made over lapping tabs to bolt so it cant come apart. Seals up good that way

I found that walker makes a flange that works once you drill the two holes 2 sizes bigger so ill have the exhaust shop flair two small setions and weld it up. Should work good
