Ive been building this car little by little for the last 2 months or so.... It is a 1990 Lx 5 speed 5.0 car... it has 44,500 miles or so on it, no rust or dents on the body, and very little rust spots under it.... I bought this car as a roller with nothing but a 4" hood, weld draglites, holly blue, and after market control arms.... as extras.... Then i found a 1988 convertible for sale that has "2500-3000.00" in the motor in the last 2-3 years, MDS 6A box, edelbrock performer intake 289, holly carb 4 barrel double pumper, mac shorties, and duals with IMCO mufflers http://www.summitracing.com/search/Brand/Imco-Exhaust/ T5 transmission, drive shaft all that good stuff... shifter everything was ready to go... I paid 900.00 for this car.... got the motor and everything pulled out of it painted up and ready to go... then a week or so later got it dropped into my 90 and about a week after that, had everything hooked up and ready to roll.... threw the new E3 plugs in it, and the plug wires back on, and when we started it for the first time, she blew flames out the carb about 2 feet tall.... the next night we figure out it was a HO motor and 4 of the wires were in the wrong firing order... now it runs, sound greats.... in the process of getting new quad shocks for it so i can really DRIVE this car and see what kind of power im looking at... the car defiantly sounds good for the price i have invested in it.. It will be painted Performance Red... I already have the paint, just got to get the time to paint it.... I work 5 days a week from 8am til 11pm so finding the spare time to go work on it is rough some times.... just thought i would post this so you guys would know what kinda car i have.... Will follow up with pictures of the build progress as soon as we find the cable to upload pics from camera.... would love to take it to a cruise in this year...

need to fix the wheel hop, and the whining noise while driving down the road, sounds like a super charger..... i picked up some quad shocks today just gotta get down and put them on, and finish adjusting the carb and timing a bit more.... still flooding up on me and burning rich!

It has to be bushings or something like that none of my foxes have had quad shocks but they always had good quality control arms and I haven't experienced any problems with wheel hop, that whining sound could be the tranny or the gears being shimmed too tight

Going down here in a bit to put the quad shocks on, and change the fluid in the tranny.... and fueling up again to test it out... praying the quads help.......

With good bushings in the rear end and good control arms you dont need the quad shocks.

Found out the car has stock uppers, but i put the quads on it.... adjusted the carb and timing a bit more, and put some 93 gas in it with a bottle of the 104 octane boost, and took it out on the street.... Spins just about 20 feet in 1st then hooks up, really grabs 2nd and 3rd.... and the tires on it are old hard bf euros.... cheap ass tires... i think with a good set on it it wouldnt even spin in 1st.... I found a BRAND new set of smoked head lights and NEW set of tails for 150.00 for all... so after friday they will be mine... next week i think im gonna paint it.... prob. go down and wet sand all day sunday and start painting wed. and thursday.... if i dont have to work.... anyone have any tips on base/clear painting for a rookie? what grit to sand my primer, when to wetsand? should i wetsand my paint before i clear, should i only sand my clear, then put one last coat? or should i just wetsand my primer, then paint the car, then clear it, wetsand it and buff it? Remember its gonna be Performance Red... and im gonna have my buddy print me off some good stickers to inlay into the front/rear bumper where it says MUSTANG it will be black letters, and the 5.0 is black with the red dot.... black interior, black door jams.... and black engine bay with a red block.... As soon as we can find the cord for the camera will upload some pics.... I need a new battery, and maybe alternator and should be good to go!!!!!!

I just looked up the numbers off my holley carb. and they were 3310-10 and 10569 and found that its a 750 cfm... think that may cause my car to flood a bit?

U need a smaller carb or jet it down and prolly change the squirters really I would just buy a 600dp or 650dp the 600 would be plenty for ur combo I don't know why everybody tries to over carb a motor

im looking for one... how much would this one be worth if i were to sell it? it works fine its numbers are above ^^^^^ its a newer carb the 3310 ends in 10.... and isnt 600s for sbc's?

A 600 is for whatever u put it on, the point is u don't over carb ur motor it's like putting huge injectors and throttle body on a stock motor

The value of the carb depends on the condition and what model it is and the market just look around and see what other people are asking for them

Is the red one a drop-top? Body looks straight on your runner. Get it painted and hit the streets with it!

Just take your time with it man. Make it the way you want it from the get go. I've been building mine for almost 4 years now. Only want to do it once. Takes time and $$$$ but it's worth hanging onto in the end. I really think you would have a hard time getting a couple grand out of it if you tried to let it go now. Keep it, get it to haul balls, hit the track an meet some cool people bro!
