I am about ready to take the Blazer to the scrap yard. If anyone has any metal bits and pieces, I'll be happy to load the truck to the gills. :bigthumb

I ended up selling the body and frame; it saved me the trailer rental and buying lunch in exchange for my buddy's truck. I still have the wheels and tires left.
Last time I checked, scrap was bringing $250/ton. I think I heard t is down to ~$225/ton currently. I was going to call when the guy finally got the motor out.

I have a old machine stand sitting in the basement of my commercial building. Sucker weighs at least 300lbs. For $20 worth of scrap, that dude is staying down there!

Fuuuuuucccckkkkkkkkk, it was pushed back in the corner when my wife told me she was pregnant last year. It's a happy and sad time. Lily is now 6 months old and healthy. For father's day she(wife) got me a nice Grant wheel for it.
Besides, the Mazda is down AGAIN and I don't have the $$ to rebuild the head AGAIN so the Pinto is 3 cars deep in projects.
I might have the Pinto done in ~20 years when the daughter moves out.
Yeah, Kat, you might try a recycling yard if you know the metal content (steel, iron, aluminum). My buddy's dad has a farm and when he got rid of a bunch of old stuff he put all the steel in one pile, aluminum in another and cast iron in a third. He got decent money for each load by going to different places that paid the best.
If you're scrapping a whole car, it is easier to just drag it in and let them do their thing though.
