Ceramic coating in the Dayton area

Looking to get a set of long tubes coated. Whats a good place to have them done?

mark, are you still in fairborn? there is a bike shop on 444 that does powder coating, I've talked to the owner about doing car parts and he seemed open to it, not sure if he is able to do the ceramic coating or not. the shop is called links & kinks I believe.

Yeah I know that place your talking about, seen the sign. Think I'll go with Aesthetic Finishers since they seem to be the popular vote. I will ask them about doing some powder coating on some other things I have though. I'll let you know how they do. :bigthumb

Just out of curiosity let me know what they charge for a set of long tubes. Also are the ones you have new or used and currently coated or bare. Just want to know for comparison sake. Thanks

It's $15/ft Coated or bare. Long tubes would be about $250

Thats what I generally charge for longtubes unless they are really rusty or have already been ceramic coated then I'm a few bucks more

Are we talking ceramic type wet paint or aluminum suspended in resin?

I do the liquid as is most all other ceramic applications. Walter are you talking about the white stuff that looks like thick paint?

Im talking Jet Hot, the silver shiney stuff.

Actually the jet hot polished ceramic is water based and only good to approx 1300deg where the black is good to.approx 2000deg and is solvent based. I dont do the polished as it requires either a ton of.polishing by hand or a very expensive vibratory polisher to get the chrome like shine. I dont do enough to justify the $10k for a cheap polisher
