Does it not want to stay on?

If oil gets on it the wrap will start to burn. Also seem to hold the heat in the hotside so much that the metal will fatigue and begin to crack.

That's a problem with stainless, not mild. Is the hot side mild or stainless?

I know that BG and Pony Down will void your warranty if they find out that you wrapped their mild headers.

yes mild steel will get brittle and start cracking from being wrapped.
