Anyone shot a Smith/Wesson model 60 2 or 3 inch barrel in any caliber? Just curious how the trigger action is on this hammerless double action revolver. Thanks.

I fired one a couple years ago. If i recall the trigger was smooth and around 5 pounds (guess)

Thanks. Any chance you tried out a model 642 (I think). Its a 2.5" or 2.0 inch barrel thirty eight that is on the same frame as the 60. Its also a hammerless style meaning there is no exposed hammer to cock. double action - just pull the trigger. Thanks.

I've got a 2 inch s&w airweight 38. Heavy trigger but it is smooth enough.
It is the internal hammer model. I really like it for summer carry.

Thanks. Was meaning to get to a gunshop (A real gunshop, not bass pro) this weekend, but never got around to it. Need to get started on my Ohio conceal carry. Shouldn't be to big of a deal since I was an Indiana CC permit holder until 1997. Moved to Ohio in 95 so could not renew.

I love my 642. I have about wore the finish off from carrying it so much.

Thanks. I will look into the SS version. Hopefully they make one in a 38 cal.

A model 60 has an exposed hammer. You're probably talking about a Model 640, if it has an enclosed hammer. I used to own a 640. Good shooting gun, trigger was stiff, but smooth. Out of all the small handguns I've owned, I shot it the best. It's big enough to get a good stable grip on, but small enough to carry.

Yes I was getting my model numbers mixed up. My source owns both and was sharing about both. He corrected me later. My focus is on the 640 series, thanks. Like the idea of hidden hammer, hammerless, however they refer to that design. Thanks. I am planning on making a trip to a gunshop named Kyles this week. Time to get serious about this and get off the stump.

I have a 642 full internal hammer double action. From the factory trigger pull is horrid and about 13 lbs.
Put in a Wilson Combat reducer spring dropping it to about 8 pounds and it's smooth smooth smooth.

It's my bike carry gun

Stopped at Kyles today. Looked at SW 60, 642, 647. THen looked at the Ruger RCL. Really like that weapon for PP. Light weight, hidden hammer design, and available in .38 or .357. Must admit they had some really handsome semi autos as well even though I am a revolver type guy. May be getting a new non-car toy sooner than I thought.
