Anyone on here running GT40P heads? If so, what springs are you using? I have a set of these heads and need to order a spring upgrade kit. I have read of many using the Trickflow ones but figured I would get some SBZ advice...

Thanks in advance!

what cam are you going to run Tim? I'm running trick flow's as well.... are you going to use a power adder? if so you might need a stiffer spring so your valves dont float on ya

Im planning on running the AFM N-41 cam. Not planning on any power adder.

That should be a good lift for the heads

Better than the tf kit is the crane...http://www.jegs.com/i/Crane+Cams/271/44308-1/10002/-1

I hope its all that I have read about! Yes, it does cost a little more than the Ford letter cams. Do you have personal experience with this particular cam? I've read its the best cam to use with P heads..

No personnel experience, but I did my research on it so I could decide between that and the TFS1. Money was the overall factor in my decision. Its almost ha:bigthumblf the price of the Anderson. I would get the Anderson springs for the cam. A little pricey but with it. :bigthumb

my thinking is, if your going with tfs then use tfs springs, going anderson use anderson spring, i always found that mix matching parts does not always work well -sometime the sun shine on a ugly dogs ass too tho

Does that kit come with valve stem seals and shims too?

Sure don't... It does cost more too but has a much higher spring rate and can handle more lift. The tf kit is hard to beat for a mild set up.

I ran the crane springs for over a year going through the traps at 6900:eek:

I see, just asking for my own knowledge. I don't like to get asked a question and have say I'll look into it. I'd rather know.

I ended up getting the Trick Flow Spring kit as well as a TFS 1 cam for my P Headed 306 combo. Should run very well and be street friendly, also bought a Weiand Stealth intake to be topped woth a Holley 650 DP.
