The goal is low 11's or high 10's in full street trim including AC and a stereo then as I shed weight low 10's. When we get it on the dyno for tuning we can decide on gears. I am expecting to need 4.88's or 5.14's with a 26" slick.

If my math is correct it should be right at 11.5:1. Considering its 40 miles round trip to get E85 it's not really practical though I should have enough pump and injector to give it a shot.

I sure hope so. I don't know that I'll be close getting the real potential out of it because I am not sure I'll get the rear end re-done before it gets cold but I hope to at least get some seat time. I did have to compromise a bit and go with off the shelf headers with 2.5" exhaust for now. Once the finances allow and I start looking for every last ounce of performance I'll upgrade.

We have some numbers. :) the first round of break in and tuning produced 390 rwhp @ 6900 and 320 ft lbs @ about 5000. I am pretty happy especially since there is still more to come. On deceleration it sucking oil in through the PCV system which is made worse by the lack of baffles in the Trick Flow valve covers so we need to install an oil separator as a permanent solution. We are also going to get some fresh 93 for he tank since its been running on gas I last put in back in November of 2010. After that we are going to put in some race gas and some more timing to try and break the 400 mark. We also need to send the meter I bought back to Pro M because it appears to be bad and all the tuning was done with the stock meter.

I have to give a big thanks to Mike Bell for building a hell of an engine. It has exceeded my goals and has a bunch left in it with some more upgrades.

I got the big and little back on it last weekend and since its nice out I decided to use it to go Krogering. Once you hit 4K the car really comes alive and with the drag radials on it I can actually go full throttle in the car. It's going to take some serious getting use to with the face plated transmission but I can't wait to hit the track. If only Kilkare would get the paving finished.

cstreu1026

I finally got to the track this Friday evening to try and get a feel for the car. I know I need much shorter gears and more traction but it was nice to get some seat time. First pass I went 13.0 @ 111 with a 2.16 60ft. I was pretty much a nervous wreck on the first pass. Second pass improved to a 12.67 @ 111 with a 2.0 60ft. On the third and final pass I managed a 12.59 @ 112.5 with a 1.91 60 ft.

I have a ton of things to work on. The 4.10's are getting ditched for some 4.88's since I am crossing through the traps a good 2K below where I should be. I have some electrical gremlins that popped up on the way to the track and at the track. The speedo quits working sometimes on hard acceleration and the shift light quit working after the first pass. I am pretty sure its related a bad ground so it shouldn't be too difficult to deal with. I really need to get comfortable shifting at 7500+ which will probably be the biggest obstacle.

Also on the last pass I heard a pop in the rear suspension on the 1-2 shift that I need to check out. I have some upgrades waiting in the wings I just hope I didn't do any damage. The 4 year old drag radials just aren't going to cut it anymore.

They did get a couple of decent shots of the car though.

Just a little update...ran a best of 11.99 @118 the second time at the track with the car. That was after a change to 4.56 gears, Hanlon built synchronized TKO 600, and x pipe with cats.

I have a full Team Z rear suspension ready to go on including double adjustable Strange shocks. I also have a Holley HP ecu system with matching Holley dash waiting to go in. Future plans call for bigger cams, bigger headers, modified Edelbrock intake, TFS R heads, and a 3.74" bore 311" short block with 14:1 compression.

The AC compressor has given up and is leaking oil. The power steering is also leaking so the AC, power steering, and power brakes are coming off and manual brakes and flaming river manual rack are going on. The rear suspension is also getting a substantial change. It will be replace with Team Z relocated uppers, lowers, anti-roll bar, springs, and Strange double adjustable shocks.

I had some more parts fall in to my lap so it looks like its going to be getting some more upgrades. We are going to start is an iron romeo block bored .040" over with JE domed pistons, Manley I beam rods, and a cost crank. That's getting topped with a set of TFS R 195 heads, a ported Edelbrock Vic jr., and some monster cams.

If you ever decide to upgrade. I think the ysi/2200R uses the same bracket. I know they do for the vettes. Not 100% sure on the Mustangs though. My 1500 pulled hard but was maxed out. My 2200r pulls just as hard as my 1500 on its lowest setting. All I had to do is buy a head unit. I decided to upgrade to a 10 rib at the same time. I can't wait to turn it up. Going from a 3.33" to a 2.75" pulley.

cstreu1026
11-24-2015, 10:43 PM
Based on what Paxton says this should support approximately 825 at the wheels.

The plan is to run a 3.5" pulley with an 18% over drive damper which will spin the blower to its max impeller at 7000 RPM. The kit is fitted with a waste gate and boost control and I plan to use that to dis the boost back to whatever we can safely run.

Reviving an old post. The year didn’t go as planned. Swapped to a 2018 intake and picked up 2 HP and lost 35 ft-lbs. The I took the car to NMRA finals and broke it on the first pass. Spun a rod bearing which really puts a damper on the winter plans. I had picked up an Edelbrock TVS and I was trying to figure out to cover the blower, fuel system, and a cage. Now I need a new engine. It’s sucks but that’s racing.

I picked up a set of Oliver billet rods and Mike is going to order some custom CP pistons and a new boss crank. More than likely I’ll have the block sleeved and heads ported while it’s all apart. I guess when it’s back on the track I’ll skip the 10s and go straight for the 9s.
