I am having mixed emotions on whether to have the mouldings and headlight area on my 85 painted the same color as the car or to have the mouldings painted the trim color as it came from the factory. My intentions arent to have a totally original looking 85GT as I am going with a small cowl hood and some 17" Anthracite Cobra Anniversary wheels.

One minute I like the "all one color look" and the next minute I think it needs the mouldings and headlight areas painted trim color to break it up.

I am not 100% sure what color I am going with and I think the color choice would have an impact on leaning one way or the other.

Didnt think this would be so damn hard. As much as I want a car with WOW factor, I think the mouldings and headlight area need to be painted trim black to break things up as well as adding the black hood stripe.

I have added a couple pics of 4 eyed cars painted both ways. A couple of them have the exact wheels I will be going with.

I know I gotta make the decision and be happy with it but I value everyones opinion.

Thanks in advance!

I love the trim/mouldings/headlight buckets painted that black/charcoal color that 85's were.... to me it makes the car look complete... when they are left body color... to me the car doesnt look "finished". But to each is own.

I vote black the trim.

Yup, that's why my 93 is going to get a 91 style paint job. Black trim and all!

painting the trim the same color as the car itself makes it look like a cheap paint job in my opinion..i hate it when people do that to foxbodys

Another vote for black...or the correct charcoal color.

I like the black also. The only time I think the trim should be the body color is when you do a multi-color custom type of paint job.
