My mechanic is busy. I want my 92lx put back to a five speed. Does anyone want to do the job. It was an original t5 car. The pedal is in the car still. I have everything needed. I also would like the rear main seal replaced while your down there. Any one with experience and isn't going to dent or scratch up my car while doing it would be great to hear from you. Let me know how much to do it and when you can get it done.

It's really not that bad, less than a year ago i'd never build a motor from top to bottom this past Feb I did. I'd always just replaced or upgraded little things....... I made the mistake once of having a shop do an AOD to T5 swap for me just because i thought the same thing oh i'm not good at doing a major upgrade and what not...... that was a $5000.00 lesson......

not saying anything bad against a shop just expensive...

I know a couple guys said to do it yourself....it's not really that difficult. Especially since it was an original 5 speed car. The hardest and most time consuming thing is the pedal swap in my opinion. I did that part myself then had a shop do the trans swap from AOD to T5.
Since the pedals are still in your car, it would be much easier.

This might help:

lol its so hot outside i only been working on my car from 6am to 11am and at night, this would have to be a inside job just to kept the heat off ya, do it your self man, plenty of advice and articles on it, probably only take you 4 or 5 hours to do it and thats not even knowing how, it's pretty straightforward** out with the old in with the new hook everything up any problems ask or if you dont understand something, it would save you a ton of money hell that how i learned to fix cars could not afford to pay someone lol

I really don't want to do it myself. I have a garage at the house if you want to do it there. My mechanic was going to the job for 200 to 250. He's out of town for about a week. If someone who knows what they are doing can do it sooner for about the same price let me know. Thank you all but i'm not mechanically inclined.
