So to start off i'm starting the build thread for my best bud Jimmy aka Blue5.8 over the past two years he's been though several Mustangs and several other cars but ultimatly he wanted a stang similar to mine. I showed him the for sale thread on wednesday at 4:00 as I was leaving for work. Thursday he asked me if i thought it was a good deal I told him it looked like it he said good because i bought it last night.

I'll let him post the progress but for now here's the plan.

Coyote 5.0
tublar K
T-56 6-Speed Viper Spec
Built 9"
4:30 gears
17x12 Cobra Rims (hopefully!!!)
Subaru Blue
Carbon Fiber hood
Carbon Fiber Deck lid
05 Dash, Center console, 05 seats, custom door panels
(I understand it's a pain in the ass and a shit ton of work but that's what it's getting)
suspension is going to be one of two either coil overs on all 4's with strange 10ways or air ride (i'm hoping for the air ride)

05 is being tore apart as we speak!!!!!!

So I went and looked the car over last night and let me tell you my car is clean but it's driven almost every day. The underside of this car i know everyone always says this but it's literally clean enough to eat off of. The Body is 99.9999999% perfect minus one little ding behind the drivers door that's about the size of a quarter.

heck yea and they'll hold alot of HP too........... mostly just looking to do something different. Plus if I like the way the Coyote runs in a fox i'll most likely do the swap as well.

LOL this is exactly what I was going to do with a roller. Only change would be different gears,FI,retain Fox dash. Good luck guys this should be pretty wicked when its done. I may get ahold of you guys and drop in and get some pointers during the build.

That guys from Lima. It's a sick looking car, but its a fake Termi, IIRC. 99/01 with an Eaton swap and Termi exterior.

You can get the 5.0 for the f150 and its supposed to be a little less. It does have a little bit lower compression though.

No problem. Im looking at getting a roller soon.

I'm undecided on what motor to go with. 6.0 ls, 351 based motor, aftermarket block 302, or a coyote?

ive only seen one other with a 05+ interior. looking forward to see you get this one together. whatever fox i end up with next will be getting a 05+ interior as well. the dash looks right at home in them. a little long i think though. i think a slight trim would make the fit and finish a little better.

if you dont mind me asking what did the interior end up running you?

Pitbull1052
08-03-2012, 07:33 AM
hey Ryan don't know if you remember but I bought the rear end out of your old vert...... i got the interior for him it was $1200 but it's very very complete every nut bolt screw wiring harnesses ecu, head liner every single part from the interior. I can most likely get my hands on a few other sets if anyone is interested. The dash does get trimmed quite a bit for it to fit we'll post up

yes, i remember that. ill be starting to stock pile parts for my fox here soon. so ill start a project thread on it at some point. im torn on the dash swap. i really love the foxbody set up but the red in mine drives me nuts. as well dose all the noise the interior pieces make moving around. would give me a reason to fix all that. and i love the look of the 05 body style dash and console. the biggest issue i think i would have would be figuring out how to retain the 05 gauge cluster in the fox. if i remember correctly im pretty sure there all electronic? water temp and oil pressure wouldnt matter but i would need the speedo, tach, and volt gauge to work.

i dont want to muck up your thread but if you would have any ideas let me know. i may be down in cincy in 2 weeks. if your not gonna be busy id love to stop by and check the car out.

if i know i could get the cluster to work from the car i would for sure do the swap.

have you mocked a door panel up to see how bad its going to be to get them to work?

i will use all factory components the 05 harness is still in the dash and ford racing sells the controll pack to put a 2012 5.0 in a 05 so everything will be plug and play mostly

The early swaps I saw using the control pack were not compatible with the 05-10 instrument clusters. Has Ford updated the control packs to be compatible?

blue5.8
02-22-2013, 11:49 AM
there are a few diffrent controll packs out there but yes it will becompatable

Good to hear. I'd love to gt a 5.0 into an 05-10 body. Maybe if Steve has my old car for sale down the road I might go that route
