How big of a cell do you plan on installing? I have seen smaller cells nested in the spare tire cavity, on my race care I have a 28 gallon cell that I dropped through the floor of the trunk. I'll try to shoot a photo of the mounting for you, you could use the angle frame to mount a large or small cell.

Not the best photo, but you'll get the idea:

Its basically an angle iron frame the flange from the cell nests into and bolts down. The bottom of the spare tire well is carved out to let the tank slip through, then I caulked around it to tidy things up. The bottom of the tank protrudes from under the well about 4 inches. Its a tidy package for such a large tank, plus it moves the tank as far rearward I one can get it. Measure three times, cut once - or twice a bit larger each time.

If you have a poly cell nhra rules require you to have metal under the bottom of it.
