Alrighty so i'm posting this for a bud i chose to pass on the car as it has a SALVAGE title.

Here's what i know about the car, he bought the car from his brother who bought it from an auction. From what i understand the car was in a driverside accident the fender, door and hood were repalced. I did not pull the car fax.

I don't know all of the details but about 6 months ago it lost oil pressure, he took it to a local shop here in Hebron. They repalced the oil pump but when they put it back together somethings not right. It seems like it's down on power. The only thing I can equate it to is when i put my pushrod motor together I tighted the valves too tight and it made it feel the same way this Cobra does. I'm not that hip to the 4v cars so i'm not sure what's wrong with it.

Other than that the car is pretty nice. One tear on the driverside bolster. Paint could use a good deswirl and buff. It does have actual Saleen magnesium rims that are perfect not one scratch not a curb mark nada. Brand new KDW's all the way around. I'm not that familiar with NOS set ups but it does have a pretty slick zex set up. There's a digital controller under the hood and in the glove box. The car is drivable but again seems down about 100 hp to me. No rust on the frame rails or in the trunk area.

The gentleman who own's the car is a captain in the Army and will be deployed to Africa soon. If anyone would like additional info or photos I'll do what I can for you as the car is literally 5 min. from where I work.

At this time i'd say he's open to offers.

roger that I think somewhere around 3-35 would get it but I'm not sure what it's worth with a salvage title and the mechanical issue.

He said $5k. I told him I'd go $4 cash if he changes his mind. That's the best I could I do though with a salvage title and mechanical issues!!

thats alot for something that more than likely needs a motor and has a branded title. Very good looking cobra though:bigthumb

Josh... Didn't you just get upset with someone who wasn't interested in buying your car commenting on you're price being high?

I never heard anything back from him. I thought $4k was a very fair offer for the car with the issues it has. Oh well already bought something else!!

Yeah, I had the same issue. Shot him a text, he responded once but never again. I have also moved on :)

4k is all he is going to get unless a teenager makes a big mistake. In less someone figures out the problem and doesn't require a motor or even heads would make it a bad investment. Honestly the money is in parting it out. I want those wheels!!

I totally agree it's has fairly nice all black interior, and yes those saleens are slick as shit.... to be honest i'm sure there are some fast cobra's out there and i'm sure this one being down on power has alot to do with it too I just didnt like the way a 1996 cobra felt, it felt slow and heavy compared to my fox i thought i might use it as a daily driver but hell i'd have to modify the hell out of it so wasnt any point for me other than parting it.....

ummmmm. I was interested in buying it to put a mach 1 motor in but thats still waaaaay to much $ for a cobra with a title issue sean and from what the other guys are saying it doesnt even sound as if the owner cares to sell it. I am diggin those wheels though!
