Whats an easy way to get the pve element out and when I get it out does it go straight into the motor. I ask that so I know it's out

Do you mean the mesh screen below the PCV valve on a 5.0 ?? You can either grab it with a pair of long needle nose pliers and pull it out. Or, use a small pick to catch one of the metal tabs or edge of it and pull it out. They usually gum up pretty good if the engine has a bunch of miles on it.

Last resort is you can try to drive a screwdriver or something into the mesh and then try to twist or pry it out......not recommended though. Or, try to drive the screwdriver or punch into it and crush/collapse it. Shouldn't be that diffucult. These are kind of caveman/hillbilly methods though.
Definitely will need to buy a new one if you use either of these methods. It's not moving at all ?
How many miles on this engine ??

Use a 45 degree hose pick, hammer it thru the screen- jar the tool sideways and pry it out with a pry bar or hammer up on the tool handle with a small hammer.

The motor ha s about 130000 on it and I bet it's th original. As soon as I got the motor running we left for vacation. Pretty excited to get home and start working on it.
