OIl Pump Failure

Well the oil pump failed on the Volv8, twisted & broke the ARP oil pump drive shaft!!!
Facemelter71 & tore it down Saturday, the oil pump locked up:(.

Luckily there is no damage to the motor, when the light came on, I turned the engine off.

Should be back on the road this week.

First time I ever had a Melling pump fail, only a couple years old.

First time I ever had a Melling pump fail, only a couple years old.

we had a melling pump fail in a 400 pontiac motor on the engine dyno. wiped the crank. melling was less then helpful on that one.

are there any better choices than melling for oil pumps? melling is the only name I know of, and had planned on going with them.

Dont buy a mellings from the parts chains they are seconds. I will only run Sealed Power and get them at Napa .

I went back with a Melling & ARP driveshaft, just one those freak things that happen, it's all back together & running fine!!!!:bigthumb
