Found this on google. Has some information you may find helpful. I would do a search at either the corral (corral.com) or modular fords(modularfords.com) as they are IMO the two best tech sites out there for modulars. I don't trust allfordmustangs.com.......too many know nothing, bad info passing dummies there......lol. But there are a few who know their shit and these thread seems legit. good luck.

the Mark 8 engine has terribly short duration intake cams and an even worse intake manifold, change both to parts from a 96-98 Cobra and you'll gain lots of power.

You'll need:
96-98 Cobra intake/IMRCs/IAC/TB
96-98 Cobra throttle and cruise control cable
Cobra exhaust manifolds/headers
air inlet tube
modified fuel rails to work with a returnless system

The stock computer will control it and the 2v ignition system will work, but you will need 4v COPs and valve covers.

A Mach or avaitor engine will make more hp/tq and be a much better driver with an auto transmission.

Forget the entire engine just use the shortblock IMO. Besides the oil pan and pickup tube are desireable but you may want to keep them if you do not have the high flow setup from a cobra to use, not sure if the pan or tube fit in a mustang I guess only one way to find out.
