Had rob take out the 6 point steel.
He is doing a chrome moly all custom. Putting in some new seats, building it around those as well.
Adding a window net.
Everything needed down to 8.50's.
Some progress pics.
Tight work

Those dash frames are not coated at all and usually rusting by the time they are bought new. Seen that a lot. Does that car have curtain air bags?

you said curtain, my bad, i thought you meant side airbag, no side curtain
What do you think it will weigh after everything is finished?

rich, from what rob said the 5/8 moly shouldn't weigh anymore than the 6 point steel that was in there.
we did add the 2 crossbars in the back as well.
Steve poe recommended scraping some of the junk off the floors and the carpet insulation, said that would shave 15-20 lbs, the seats should save another 20-30 total, and the k member is supposed to be about 30.
so, if the cage comes in like it's supposed to, hopefully 50-70 pounds out of the car. of course the chute and mount is going to add weight as well
We should transplant your powertrain into my foxbody and see what it would do...

Have to be legal if your going to run the e.t.'s all the time :)

I think they work for both, comfort, support, and a little weight savings
