There is a guy on craigslist swearing his 1996 cobra r is real. He says its a number matching motor with a 351 in it. This cant be true if it is a 96, correct? He is being an ass about it. Yall want to take a look and flag his ad if you agree?

yeah I had a simular thing happen a while back when I was in Tennessee. I found a guy that was advertising his car as a s351 so I went and looked at it.....lol It was nothing more than a GT with "S351" vinyl and a aftermarket "fiberglass" saleen body kit. And what really cracked me up was the fact that all of the Saleen kit was screwed on with sheet metal screw...rofl.... what the hell.

He told me his title said 1996. He also said its number #382 so even if it was A 1995 which it would have to be having a 351w in it, its way beyond the end of the sequence of 250 made. It would be pretty valuable if it was real thats why I was interested in it but this guy is a piece of work. Just keeps repeating Im wrong even after I send him the SVT registry. He knows its an R "because it says so on the window." Im pretty sure this is what they go by at auctions like barret jackson to determine authenticity. lol

Only the 1993 and 2000 Rs. The 1995 R was white with a tan cloth interior.

guy that lives in my neighborhood had a 96 cobra r, and when he started it, the sound was amazing.... not heard any other mustang that sound the same, not sure of the engine but GOD i could hear that car start from in my garage with the door closed :-P and he sold it or trade it, dude always got some badass cars think hes a car painter or something a exgirlfriend told me oh and the car was white with a tan top and saddle interior i know cause it looked just like mine ,, anyway that looks like a 6 cylinder car to me..

yea i was thinking that only 93/94-95/99-2000 where r, i seen a 95 cobra r for sell back like 6 or 7 years ago when i bought my first mod motor mustang and i thought about buy it for about a month before i decided, well iv never had a convertible or a mod engine,, lol either way thats some damn hillbilly trying to get someone to buy his crap :D oh and that mustang was a 1996 saleen mustang i dont know why i was thinking cobra r brain fart i guess lol
