Ok as i move forward on collecting my parts to do my EFI swap in my 83 i was curious is there a difference between a automatic car and a 5spd car when it comes to the Computer....

I might just buy a junker and use as a donor car but i keep finding automatic cars and unsure if the computers are different..

any info would be great

Thanks

I read something about guys that run the auto computer in a 5spd car was having issues with the idle staying at 1500rpms for a few seconds after the clutch was pushed in..

Basically like having a bad IAC ...any thoughts on this

You must run the computer for a manual trans if that is what you are going to be running. I believe you will need an A9L computer for the manual trans and the mass air conversion.

Yes the auto idle is based of having a converter spinning and wont idle right
