going to a c6 from a tremmic in my lx. sc 306.. not a d/d. weekend car around town, no highway and milan is about it. oh yah..the part in question...lol...the 430 gear. its not gonna work out well is it? around town doesnt really bother me, but im thinking im gonna run out of rpm's before i pass the stripe. the other thing ive noticed is that guys on a 27 to 28 inch tire are running better times with a 373 than 4 or 410. i do have the steel planetary in the c6 , so i do have the lower 1st and 2nd gear ratios in the trans. i dont think that would make a huge difference other than 60ft times mainly though there. ....anybody have any input as to my gearing? im in the 10s with the tremmic and id obviously expect to see lower et#s with the c6, but dont really want to buy 4 different gear sets to find the sweet spot...

4:30 gears, 28" Tire... I hope your not disappointed though, that C-6 uses more horsepower then the Tremec.. Even with a full roller low gear set, the internal mass is larger then whats in the Tremec.. One thing is for sure, you won't ever hurt that C-6... Good luck

yah.. i know what you mean about the horsepower draw.. i wanted a c4 but couldnt pass up the deal i got on the c6. im just thinking the c6 will be more consistant that the tremic with the chance of human error shifting gone. i was just worried that the 430 might hurt me with a 3 speed. i dont want to rpm the hell out of it in the quarter. guess if i dont like it ill make a gear change and spray it in third

What RPM are you expecting through the traps?
I don't think the 4.30 gear is going to hurt you to much, best bet is to run it and go from there.

High gear in a c6 is still 1:1. What gear were you going thru with your tremec? I'm guessing if you look up the specs on your tremec that whatever gear you were going thru the traps with was 1:1. Usually anything less than 1:1 is considered overdrive

makes sense.i guess what threw me off was no one seeming to like the 4 series gears except for in the 5 speeds.. 1:1 is 1:1 though. ill have to see what 4th was but youre probably right
