05 z51 vette vs 04 whippled Saleen

So i was driving on the outerbelt around parkersburg yesterday and a beautiful yellow saleen vert blew past me revving the guts out of his engine I got up behind him and his tag said WHPLD 04. I dropped it into third and started to pull up beside him and all i heard was his blower screaming and he took off. At the top of third i was about a car out on him and kept pulling away all the way thru 4th, I finally let out at about 140 and I was at least 4-5 cars out on him. I honestly expected to get my ass handed to me.

I've looked and oddly enough cannot find evidence of a whipple option offered for the 2004 4.6 2V engine. Hmmmm. There may be an adapater kit forthe 03/04 Cobra Whipple option that will mate it to the 2V?????? I don't know. Or maybe he did a 4V swap??? I would have expected a lot more if that were the case.

With that in mind, the best package out that year offered from Saleen was a 445 crank HP (liberally 400 RWHP based on 10% PT loss).

Or maybe he just lifted early after realizing he picked a fight he couldn't win. I've had vettes do the same to me. They back off when realizing I'm more than a stock GT with a chin spoiler and magnaflow exhaust when picking a fight with me. :D

They must not be making them any more or not listed due to minimal interest??? None of the pages I googled and looked at had a 99-04 2V whipple option available/listed. I also checked FRPP (I believe that SC is a whipple) and all they have available is a whipple for the 4.6 4V (03/04 cobra option).

There were Saleens that started life as an 03-04 Cobras. They are rare, and would be like running against and 03 whippled Termi.
My Saleen is a 2v with a Saleen Series IV blower. It is a Lysholm twin screw, very similar design to whipple. Mine is pullied with supporting mods and makes 361 rwhp.
My guess is it was a 2v car. Mine has 3.27 and falls on it's face in 5th gear, you would win a highway battle for sure against a like and similar 2v.
