I guess they just released these, the barrel comes off with a twist, so it can be made very compact for backpacking. It also comes with a cool carry bag/pack. I don't know what they cost, but I think it's pretty cool.

that is sharp. reminds me of the little rifles that tear down and store inside the hollow stock.

ruger website says suggested retail is 389.00... ouch

I checked Gunbroker and they were going between $315 to $350.

I'll be asking my boss to see if we can get these in when I get in tomorrow morning.

We charge way less than MSRP...the Ruger Mark 3 Hunter model MSRP's at $659 and we have them for around $470. Just sayin ;-)

Seems nice when using the factory sights but there may be accuracy issues when scoped. Some recievers and barrels will fit tighter than others....

I think the effect would be less in this case. 10/22's are a blowback action, which means the bolt is held against the barrel with spring preasure. So even if the barrel did move a few thousandths after assembly/reassembly, the headspace never changes. Also, I read a Gunsite review where they took 5 shots (scoped) then detatched/reatatched the barrel, shot again 5 times, 25 rounds total, and the point of aim and point of impact never changed.

That maybe true but when the sole purpose of this design is to detach and reattach there is cause for concern in regards to accuracy. I really like this piece and would keep it simple and just use the irons.

Run irons in this case - front and rear are on the barrel, so even if it doesn't attatch 100% repeatable, the iron sights will still be true.

That being said, most people with the Marlin papoose have no problems, irons or scope. The 10/22 take down may be similar in this regard.

Now, the Henry survivor take down rifle....rear sight on the reciever and front on the barrel. Even with the keyway, given time, your zero will be constantly changing.

Oh - and we have these 10/22 take downs on order, just a matter of the distributor shipping them. Plus a lot of other cool stuff that you'll have to come and see.

Got them in at the shop yesterday, along with a Henry today.

I really dig the Ruger. Very fast, simple, and solid take down and reassembly. Should have a price on it shortly.

I have a Henry lever and a pump. They are a blast to shoot.

We sell them for a cash/check discount price of $309+tax ($329.08 OTD) when we have them in stock. We get charged 2% on the total if a card is used, and have to charge full price is a card is used for the purchase. We had them in for less than a week before they sold out.

Will do. We just got in some scar 17s's, a mr556a1, and a few varieties of smith and stag ar's.

Our only take down 22 is the henry survival rifle.
