Door speakers.

I am getting back to work on my 81 coupe project. I am putting Alpine 6.5s in the front doors, and 1 inch tweeters in the factory dash locations. 87 or newer dash in the car. My dilema is that I have sweet black crank window door panels. Such a shame to cut a hole in them. Has anyone ever made doorpanels? I wouldnt even know where to start. I have read articles in magazines about it but those are long gone. Any help would be great! Thanks!!!

Isn't your dash grey? I've got decent '88 gray LX door panels you could cut on all you want
