I'm looking to have a roll cage installed. Nothing fancy just a simple 4/6 point. I'm new to drag racing but I hear there are some specs to be aware of. Type of bar, thinckness etc. I do oval racing the spec is fairly low, 1 3/4" cold rolled seamed and .095, I have a feeling NHRA and such want DOM and .125?
Still looking for a good reasonable welder.fabricator to do the job in a '94 GT coupe.
Thanks, Dave

First off, what kind of times are you looking to run?
Is the car a vert?

With a hard top car with stock floor, trans tunnel and firewall you can get away with just a 6 point roll bar up to 10.00 seconds. If you are planning on running to 11.50 and the car is still stock bodied you don't need a rollbar or cage.
The rollbar must be constructed of minimum 1 ¾ inch o.d. x .118 inch wall mild steel tubing, or 1 ¾ x .083 chrome moly tubing
This is just a basic list of rules but you need a NHRA rule book to cover all the SFI ratings and how often they need replaced or re-cert.
