my wifes 96 gt is throwing a check engine code, its for missfire in cylinder 8, just got finished replacing spark plugs, could this be caused from a dirty fuel injector, and if so would run fuel injector cleaner help this problem

I am assuming 96 mustang uses the coil pack setup (not COP's or distributor). Also assuming you replaced the plugs becasue of the misfire issue to begin with...I would be more suspect of plug wires or the coil block before the F/I. First recheck all of your connections if you haven't already. Also do the same on the F/I's. Disconnect and reseat firmly. If still same CEL, then swap any plug wire with cyl 8 at the plug and at the coil pack. CEL follow plug wire? If yes, replace plug wire, if no put plug wires back to original position and next entirely swap coil packs. Observe plug wiring whwn swapping as to not criss cross the firing order. You will have to swap the coil pack wiring harness connections as well. Does CEL follow coil pack? If yes then replace coil pack, if no, put all back to original places. Swap F/I 7 and 8 physical and electrical positions. Does problem follow fuel injector? If yes replace fuel injector if no,...
You will next need a DC probe. IT will be used while the car is running to detect teh presence of signal on the F/I. You should see it pulsing on/off with car running if good. This will ensure you have your F/I signal to the F/I in question. You should be able to do the same for the plug wire, again the light should pulse when the plug is being sharged with electrical potential. Hope this helps. Basic troubelshooting is all it is. Beyond this I am exhasusted and would have to resort to a trained professional.

Did you clear the code, after the plug change?

It could be from either a coil pack, dead injector, cracked plug etc etc.
I would start in this order to avoid buying parts
Move #8 Inj to say #5 and clear codes, if the code returns and is still CYL 8, then swap coil packs side to side. and see if the miss follows over with that coil pack. Just go back and forth and you will find your issue.
