Getting Wheel locks off

So I did the dumbest thing i possibly could and lost my wheel lock key :dummy: . I bought the set from pep boys about 5 years ago or so and during my move to Florida i lost the key. Their the type that have special ribs on the outside of the lug not your typical lock which has the star pattern etched in the face so hammering a socket onto them wont be of much use. Any suggestions here? I even remember the number on the key it was 355 but i dont know who the manufacturer was. I googled the 355 key and theres a few out there. Of course id have to spend about $30 on each one until i found the right one. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated or if you know what brand of wheel locks pep boys carried about 5 years ago that would be great also lol.

Well if you didn't bolt them on too tight, I would just tack weld a nut on top of the lug. There really isn't any other option other than shaving off the back of the wheel stud and hammering it out.

Most tire shops will have a stripped lug nut tool that is the female version of a easy out that you beat on to the lug nut to remove them

Pep boys or smyth have wheel lock remover tools..so u have a spline lugs?tirediscounters can get them off for u

an air chisel will work if you have one.

I appreciate it guys. The car these are on isnt mobile easily so i cant really take it anywhere. THe fit is too tight that im afraid an air chisel would mess the wheels up. The weld on idea isnt bad but a last resort since theres no going back from that if it doesnt work.
Plated, i really appreciate it but im down south in Florida right now so it would be a hell of a drive to pick it up lol.
I may start by going to a tire shop down here and seeing if they have one of those special sockets for stripped lugs.
Any other ideas are appreciated or if you know where i can go to buy these special sockets. Thanks guys.

I picked up a 95 GT years ago that had wheel locks on it, I did like the guy above who said weld a nut onto them and they came right off. Just pust something that will handle the heat around the lug hole to keep from burning the wheel with the weld. Good luck.

I welded the inside of the lug nut to the lock lug. that way splatter is kept to a minimum and the heat is the farthest away from the wheel it's self.

I have used a socket and hammered it on the lock which makes enough grooves to be able to remove the lock. Obviously you need a 12 point to make it work.

get the rounded bolt tool and put it on there should work

Goto pep boys or a local tire shop and ask for a spline drive key count the grooves yours has then when u get there count there's. There is only a few diff manufactures for them i sell them all the time. My shop for 10 bucks. If it doesn't fit take it back

I have the snap on wheel lock set, it will remove them but they will be ruined. Bring it over I'll pull them all for $10. it isn't the easiest thing in the world but usually in 2-3 tries they come off. I hope they were torqued when installed.

+2, find a snap on dealer down there and get the one socket you need for yours, and pound it on and off they come.

its not hard take a 20mm socket and beat it over it with a hammer and from hitting it with the hammer it will come rt off. the stick the socket in a vice and beat it back out with a punch.

That's what a dealership used on a car I bought with NO key.

If it was 5 years ago it was probably the Gorilla brand. Call up a few stores and see what they were carrying back then. Chances are you may get a hold of a manager thats been there for awhile. Then you can track down the key that way.

my 94 had factory locks on them, i goggled factory wheel locks and read a post that said, open up the trunk get the factory lug wrench and the key is attached to it, sure enough it was in the trunk and attached to the lug wrench

I took a grinder and knocked the chrome off of the top of mine, welded a standard lug nut to it and backed it right off.

Had the same problem with a jeep i bought, beat a good impact socket over them and they come right off!!
