So, I had an o/r x pipe put on my car the other day...and idk weather or not to keep the stock cat's or junk them...anyone know how much I'd get from them? Or would it just be smarter to keep them in case emissions come back?

I kept mine for that very reason. I had an extra set from a 96 gt and it brought $100, but that was a few years ago from a local scrap yard.

They fluctuate. I have taken converters in thinking I would get about $50 and walked out with almost $300. I have taken them in thinking I would get over $200 and walked out with $20. I have also refused to sell them and taken them back with me.

Well I've thought about junking them (if the price is right) and then when and if emissions come back just buying some high flow cats...unless I do that before they bring it back.....another question, the x pipe sounds like its rattling at times (rpm range, and in between some shifts) would weldling the x pipe get rid of most of that noise, or is that from taking the cats??? Thanks for the replies already and future replies

Just gonna sound like that probably, my 99 did and i ended up going with o/r h-pipe instead. Didnt like it sounding like it was running through some metal garbage cans lol!

Thinking about junking the stock cats and buying a set of high flow's...shouldn't that take some of that sound out, cause i like it, its just really loud at times
