Hello everyone, Newbie here. I have searched for a forum to post this summers build in and what better than with the local guys. Thank you to everyone that have already sold me some new parts.
To start off with the amazing part, I drove this 5.0 home for $200.00! Well just about I had purchased a Saturn sl2 for $200.00 cash from an old guy here in Cincinnati in a goodwill parking lot because he was hard up for cash. So I traded the Saturn straight up for the 91 5.0 vert.
If memory serves me correctly they produced around 2,000 for this yr/model/color/convertible.
I have a lot of work ahead to restore this by my self, but I am hoping to have it on the road this summer. Over time I will try to post a parts list. I have quite a long list thus far.

You can see how bad the rust is on the pans, I am cutting them out to weld new pans in both sides as the rust is to deep.
Cobra grill and fogs :)

Just some standard replacements. The rotors were cracked and sway bar links broken off.
New tie rods, moog ball joints, wheel bearings etc..

Well after hours and hours sanding this is the results for anyone who was skeptical. This shows the cans used to get this finish. I am not going into the painting process as of now as most of us understand how to get a professional paint finish.... even with spray paint. lol
Look at that shine and reflection off the paint finish

I managed to get the sn95 rear seat in the convertible today. It was not to bad. I had to trim the seat foam and cut the original brackets, shorten them up and weld them back together. Then a few hog rings for the leather.
The bottom is going to have a backet fabed up another day. And the rear top fit right in with a few bolts.
Pictures coming soon.

Rear seat mocked up. Back at it tomorrow to finish it up.
Front clip reinstalled with the cobra grill and fog lights. I also finished up the alignment and took it out today! 80* and sunny in the spring!

He aint really into fords to much. Even though he has had a few. That was a decent car for a project start. Car use to have a dry spray kit on it, and i have always loved those crome ponies.

What sand paper and compound are you using for the cut and buff? And what is the biggest part you have tackled with a rattle can? I have done a few bumpers before and thought about doing a hood just to see if it can be done. I think a lot of people get scarred away from rattle cans because the truth is it does look like crap if you dont wet sand and buff it. That makes all the difference from my experience. We have all seen cars with a complete drunkin rattle can job. No one wants that!! That interior is awesome btw!

I have done an entire car before. On this one.
Bumper,grill, trunk,wing..
Ford duplicolor, rustoleum porfessional clear.
3m products; rubbing compound. polishing compound.
Ntx tech wax.
3m 800 on primer coats. 1000wet on final base. And 2000wet on clear.
Important to have the correct pads/buffers for each job.
Ill explain at the meet tomorrow if your there.
