Passport 8500 X50 Radar Detector

Okay so this thing has sat in my drawer for about a year now and Ive grown used to not having it. It sometimes works and sometimes doesnt and pulls the "Service Required" crap. Been through this with 2 of them now and all it needs is sent or dropped off to Escort in West Chester and for $60 they refurbish it and give you a 1 year warranty. $100 takes it, this is a $300 detector new.

Whoops the link to Escort doesnt work and it seems they only sell the Black version now. Either way, it was $300 new back when I bought it. Here is the link to them now, they are 275 now since the Black one came out. Still for 160 youll have a perfectly working detector with a 1 year warranty.

Hmm so Escort raised their prices to refurbish to 79.99.... Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I've owned three of these and two of the three have done the same thing requiring them to be sent back for work.

But anyways, sale pending!

Mine has that exact same error message every couple of months. I just unplug it and plug it back in again and it works fine.

Maybe I missed it, but is yours the red or blue?

Thats how they normally start. This one will go into the Calibration Test and it will fail every time now. Once in a while youll get it to work for about 10-15 minutes.

Yeah I guess I missed that part. Its the Red Version.
