my 98 gt 5 speed needs a trans and im having a hard time finding a t45 are there any direct replacement alternative trans that i can use or am i limited to just a t45?

u can use a t-56 6 speed or a 3650 tremec but the speedo is diffrent.

I did the 3650 in mine and had to make a crossmember for it. The trans mount is further back than on the t-45. You will need to buy a spedo box to make the spedo work. Other than that it is a good option.

is the t56 6 speed a direct replacement or do i need an adapter/custom driveshaft anything? and i have called all the junk yards no luck

Try Trestler Auto Parts in Milford. I bought a 3650 and they had a couple. I gave $750 for it.

According to car-part.com, this place out in Mt. Orab has one for $500. Might want to give them a call.
