My cousin is in the market for a small name brand 4 wheeler, somewhere around 50cc's. They aren't interested in the cheap Chinese crap that you get from Pep Boys. They are looking for Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Polaris, age isn't a huge factor, as parts for name brands should still be available.
This is for their young child, so nothing over 100cc's, preferably 50cc. Let me know if you have anything or know of anyone that does, thanks.

The one I had was a non name brand one but was a good non name brand one. I agree I would stay away from the really cheap ones. Just remember all of them are made in china if the name brand ones. Just make sure there is a good network of available parts when something breaks.

I don't like the cheap Chinese version's because I think they all "will need a little carb work". There are numerous reason's why the cheapo knockoff's aren't wanted, the frames, the chains, the sprockets, the shocks, the hardware, parts availability, etc.
I think the cheapo's are race to the bottom economics. Some would argue that they are cheap and for a child, so it doesn't matter if they only last a few years. I would argue that the higher quality item is in fact cheaper.
For example, let's say I buy a cheapo for $300, keep it for two years, I think it would be in such bad shape after that time that it would be very worn, probably not running, and certainly in need of repair. I would probably sell it for a fraction of what I paid for it, or throw it away. In which case I would be out most or all of what I paid for it.
Now let's assume I buy a used name brand quad for $500, after a few years of use, I doubt it would be in much worse shape than when I bought it. And if I decided to sell it, I would expect to recover most if not all of my purchase price.
In that example, the cheapo ends up being much more expensive.
But hey...I could be wrong, your results may vary, but that is why my cousin is looking for name brand.
Thanks for the responses, keep'em coming.

My brother has a 2010 90cc Yamaha Raptor w/ about 10 hours of back yard time. He is looking for $2000.00 if interested, he paid $2800.00 plus all the taxes, title fees and prep expenses.

SORRY TO GET YOU WORKED UP THERE, BUT ETON IS A PART OF POLARIS, I MEANT IT MIGHT JUST NEED THE CARB CLEANED A LITTLE FROM SITTING.

I didn't get worked up, sorry if it came across that way. I have never heard of ETON, but I did assume it was a knockoff. Many small engines have carb trouble, my brothers Honda XR70 took some time/work to get it working right. But I think the cheapo's are worse.
I figured I would just explain why I feel the way I do so that I wouldn't have to justify numerous times what I was looking for.
Anyway, I will do some checking and let you know, Thanks.

Wow I have two Kazumai 4 wheelers that have been beat to death and still run great I bought them new in 2004 . I pull the carbs every year and clean them and the kids burn them up. I have a 90 and a 110 and its funny the 90 is alot more fun to ride and more stable even with my 250lb ass on it .

Eton is not a bad brand. I had a polaris 90 and an alpha sport and they were made by the same people and shared almost all the same parts and engines.
How little of a child is this? Would a 250 or 300cc be a better buy? You can always fix it so it wont go very fast and as the little one grows the quad can grow with them. I have put my daughter on 250cc all the way up to a 350cc earrior. Just fix the throttle so it will go as fast as you want it to. The 250 and 350cc ones arent that big for a kid and its a lot more stable if they go down the wrong trail. That and there are a lot more name brand ones for 700 to 1500. Just a thought. 9 or 10 and I would do a bigger quad and make it slow.
