Hey all, a friend of mine just picked up an Eaton blower for his Cobra. He wanted to know what parts he needed to complete the build so I told him an 03/04 upper and lower intake, obviously the intercooler and tubing and an alternator relocation, but at that point I was drawing a blank. What else will he need to finish it? I'm much more familiar with doing this on a Mach I/Marauder engine than a Cobra so your help is appreciated!

There's a bracket that bolts to the front of the motor the entire width that holds all the blower pullies, and I think the coolant tube is different. I want to do the same swap on my Lincoln one day

Yup the bridge or pulley bridge is what it's called you have to or tuner can figure out iat wiring 03 04 cobras had two of them also terminator or aviator fuel pump or should I say a bigger pump. Get with swt99svt think that's his screen name he just did it. I as well would like to someday.

Things you missed-
Timing cover is specific to 03 Cobras, supports the upper pulley bridge.
The PCV system is specific to 03 Cobras.
A pump for the IC system.
Probably a raised hood, notched on the bottom at the very least.
The lower crank pulley and support cage setup is specific to 03 Cobras.
The knock sensors and the bosses on the 01 engine need to be removed to clear the lower intake.
The 03 IAT2 sensor needs to be spliced into the IAT1 wiring from the 01 EEC.
Fuel system?

That's all I can think of now...

its a pain in the ass unless you can get everything you need on the cheap. I've done one. There are tons of writes ups out there on the different modular fourms.

He'll still need your front timing cover, your lower intake.. You don't have "everything" unless you pulled out your factory engine and replaced it when it was converted to turbos.

Timing covers are $100. Don't forget, doing the swap is a good move if you're looking to keep the car. You've got an aluminum block vs the steel. Not looking to get into a debate on blocks but the Teksid block is 80lbs lighter and can handle a TON of power. However, you then have a platform for a sleuth of whipple and KB blowers....

Most of the core parts were touched on above. I've got a lower crank pulley if you need one.

I bought all my parts as a kit off a guy who parts out Cobras. There was literally over 300 parts. Need odds and ends like throttle bracket, cruise and accel cables, alternator pin, power steering res, coolant(s) res, power steering pump, AC compresor, AC lines, and so on.

IWRBB - If he pulled his cover, went with a '99/'01 cover, alt, and crossover, with all the accys, he would essentially have a complete swap.

Complete kits go from 2k-3k. When you look at the HP and platform you then have... It's a good deal if you know what you're doing and there are plenty of "how to" docs on the web.

yea but you still have shit rods and pistons in a 99-01 cobra, just saying u cant do much boost because the make a ton of heat. by the time u spend 3k on swap stuff and still have a weak bottom end you could sell your 99 motor and buy a 03 cobra motor, just my 2 cents. good luck with whatever u do.
