Buds gun shop is probably going to be the cheapest unless you find one used. It is in KY though. Most of the time they ship for free but you have to have it shipped to a FFL dealer (which is no big deal). That FFL dealer will probably charge you 20-25 bux for the transaction

A Glock 22 is a bit large for concealed carry.
27 is a much better choice if you want a Glock.

But there are plenty of better concealed carry guns out there than the Glocks.

Glock 27 is what you want to carry, a 22 is a little large for what you will want.

I like thin, single stack guns for carry. Glock makes good guns, but they are all too big, wide and heavy for carry. Many people, myself included, tried using bigger guns when they first start carrying, then settle for something smaller. I bought a XD 9mm sub compact, then quickly went with a Ruger LCP, which has been a great carry gun. Check out the Ruger LCP, LC9, LCR, Kahr CW9, CW40, Keltec PF9.

Go with Ruger LCP in Desantis Nemisis holster if you are considering front pocket carry. I also have a S&W Body Guard which is a nice gun but I think the LCP is a little less baulky feeling etc...almost feels like carrying another cell phone.

I carry duty size guns (preferably steel) - I'm 5' 11", 165 pounds.

Probably the most underrated pistols out there is the CZ series (I carry a CZ75 SP01). The P01/P06 is a great compact pistol.

Just remember, the belt and holster you choose will impact how well you conceal, and how comfortable it is, more than the pistol you choose. Choose the pistol based off of ergonomics that work for you, pointability, and price point.

I carry a Taurus PT111 9mm. Its not too big to be uncomfotable but big enough to fit my hand.

Plus hey, it's my first week there (and the second gun shop I've worked at). We charge full price when a card needs to be processed, since that is what we have to pay to run it. It may not sound like much, but if you're interested in a LWRC rifle, it adds up quick :bigthumb

I know what you mean with the CC fees. Id rather give my customers the 2-4% discount for paying in cash rather than the bank.:)

I also know a lot about rifles - and teach people the skills needed to shoot rifles to 500m with surplus rifles and ammo.

John's pretty dang knowledgeable too, and I admit, sometimes it can be like trying to drink out of a fire hose. You'll catch some, but not all of the water. Just tell us if we get like that, and we'll all get back on the same page again pretty quickly.

If you're interested in carry ammo, we have some of the best prices on 50 round boxes of the newest generation stuff. It costs about $3-5 more than what most places charge for a 20-25 round box of the older designs.

It's hard to go wrong with the Beretta design - Taurus did the safety right on theirs if you ask me, I wish Beretta kept it like that. Oh well :cool2:

Unfortunately due to state residency issues, nothing (yet). I would rather spend a lot of one-on-one time with a customer if they are looking at different things and try to get them in a gun that they can afford, fits them well, and that they like. It's very hard to do that at a show, especially with how our inventory is laid out at a show and how many people are there.

But, it's pretty simple to get one of our pistols to a resident to another state, so who knows (I also know of a shop in Independence, KY that has a gun that he may be interested in).



Just remember, it's not the size of the gun that matters for concealment, but rather the belt and holster you use. Use the correct setup, and you'll be comfortable concealing a duty size pistol in comfort, and the rest of the world will never know. Heck, I carried steel 5" barreled 1911's for 2 years without a problem :bigthumb

The gun shows have been $20-$30 cheaper than any gun shop for those little .380 guns. Gun shops are usually right around $300 for a Ruger LCP. At most gun shows it's more like $275 or $280.

I'd pass on most of the .380's - personal reservations about most of the designs, high ammo prices for the caliber, and a pain to shoot/use effectively with most of those small designs.

For not much more you can get into a 9x19mm that has much cheaper plinking ammo, much more effective JHP ammo, and will typically be large enough to use more effectively on the target. The ammo savings alone typically saves at a faster rate than most people expect once you figure in 5-10 range outings.

And yes, competition is great for the consumer. If you can find a better deal done out the door on what you want, then by all means pursue it - and buy more ammo with the savings :-D

Mike, not really interested in a lot of extra ammo for the .380. I am interested in pricing on 1000 rounds of 7.62 x 39. Also looking for spare mags for a Taurus PT92 9mm. I need the 17 round mags. I'd be interested in buying a number of them if it makes the price better.

I talked to Kyle about the x39 ammo, he said he has cases of Wolf coming in - no pricing information yet.

As for the mags, the only ones we have for that gun are the Beretta 92 mags, and I know those aren't cheap. They should fit the PT92 since it was made on Beretta tooling, but I can't gaurantee it off the top of my head. I'll get a price for them when I get to the shop this morning.

Honestly, for good mags that don't break the bank, look at MecGar - you can get them from MidwayUSA or Brownells for a pretty reasonable price. MecGar does make mags for a lot of OEM's, and is typically quite a bit cheaper. The Beretta 92 base mags are $38, MecGars are $23-27.
