Put these two guns through the paces at the range today. I was pretty impressed with both. Probably more impressed with the Ruger because I didnt think I would like it as much as I did. One knock for the ruger was the magazines to me are harder to load than the glock. Could have been a newer spring or what not but overall I would be happy with either I believe. Does anyone have any bad reviews for the SR9C? Oh for whatever reason I shot the Ruger more accurately.

I had never seen a sr9c until just now now i kinda wanna shoot one. How's the trigger on it. And what caliber is it? And glocks are yucky :)

I'm thinking of picking up the sr9c as well. I read they are suppose to be a damn nice gun for the money

Glock 19 is great gun. Of course you can not beat a Glock no matter what model you get. I have carried several of them over the last 15 years and I trust my life with them. Never shot the Ruger as I have never been that impressed with them....so I may be a little biased.

I have never been a Ruger semi auto handgun guy either(always liked the revolvers), but between this little gem and the new 1911 they brought out I have changed my mind. Glocks are no doubt great dependable side arms, I just havent had one feel perfect in my hand. I really had my mind set on a Glock 17 or 19 but now its a toss up with the SR9C. Only negatives I saw for the ruger when comparing the two were the glock magazine was much easier to load.

Have you tried a Gen 4 Glock? They come with adjustable grips...3 sizes to choose from. If not you should try one out and see if you find one of the 3 sizes to your liking.

The SR9C is a little lighter. 400 bucks for either. It is a 9mm for the who asked.

SR9C is 2 oz. heavier. I havent shot a gen4 Glock or tried the different back straps yet(I did like the RTF models). Once again Im not knocking Glocks at all, but answer me this have any of you Glock guys shot an SR9C? My favorite handgun platform is the 1911 but 17 rounds of capacity has its advantages also.

The sr9 is 26.5 and the sr9c is 23.4. So the compact is 2 oz. lighter.

What rixxx said every glock I have ever shot feels the same too much of the generic feeling, it doesn't feel good in my hand. I carry a Kel Tec pf9, on me and a springfield xd. The Kel Tec is one I would look into if you don't mind that it only holds 7 in the clip

everyone's grip/feel is different.

I bought my Ruger P91 as I've always preferred Ruger's. It is a little big for my hand, doesn't point as natural as my Glock 22. The Ruger I had the trigger worked on, still a LONG takeup/reset, but it breaks nicer. The Glock I had fitted with a lighter trigger spring, extended slide release (short fat digits!) and Houge slip on grip. While it is still big for my hand it points perfectly for me.

I haven't tried any of the newer/smaller guns but I can see buying a single stack 40 for carry.

I've never been a fan of Glocks either but admittedly I haven't tried the latest models yet. I'm not really a fan of polymer guns in general but I've been pretty happy with my Smith and Wesson M&P.

....and the 1911 is still the best gun ever.

I was comparing weights of the sr9c and glock 19

with how many rounds???? a g19 with 15 +1 in chamber maybe. The sr9 is a top heavy gun but shoots wonderful. I have put 600 through a sr9, maybe 100 through bizle's sr9c and maybe 3-4000 through my g19. Honestly i shoot the sr9 better, but i feel that the glock is a more reliable piece that i know will go bang, not matter what the conditions.

I choose the pf9 also for carry. I have carried the glock19 and a fullsize 21sf everyday, and it sucks......period. I carry the pf9 almost all the time and love it.

I love my Kel Tec. Side note I just left Target world and shot a sr40c and all I can say is wow its an awesome gun... I'd almost get rid of my sub compact xd for one.

The weights were dry weight figures direct from mfg website.
glock19=21.16oz unloaded
ruger sr9c =23.40 unloaded

Carry it everyday...Works well for a design that's over 100 years old. That is a custom Stoner holster

I just bought my first gun last December, Glock 17. I don't know much about guns, yet....but I like my gun. My nephew is a cop and swat too. He is the one that told me a Glock is a nice gun, easy to clean and take care of.

BTW is Target World always busy....the line for the range is like 25 people deep the few times I've gone.

Used to have a membership card, would go mid day, no waiting.

Most of the time it would only be Kitch and me. She would show off her shooting skills :(

Never shot a sr9c or glock but own a sr9. Trigger is a lil stiff to pull and the guns are a little heavier than glocks, but the sr9's are good shooting guns. Very happy with mine.

i have a sr9c. i like it a lot but haven't shot the glock. I've never had an ounce of trouble out of any ruger firearm i've ever owned except a couple magazines on a rifle. always seems like i have people asking me to sell me my rugers to them for at least what i have in them over any other guns too.

gen 3 or 4 19? Ive been looking at g19's and a lot of people are having trouble with the gen 4's on youtube. Now id like a g21 but the price of ammo is gonna ad up quick...
