I have a 06GT Auto, CAI, SCT runs great no issues. I notice that it pulls great until 4th gear, 70ish mph up. If I lauch for a stop it will get to 80 with a quickness after 80 slacks. If I am at 70ish and WOT seems slow maybe out of power band (I had a Scion keeping up lol)? I was thinking maybe installing 373 gears and might help keep in power band? I know it is AUTO but what are your guys thoughts to get more pull on top end? not trying to spend a ton $$$.

that may just be the auto. my 06 gt was a manual with just a few mods, but it would pull nice over 100.

No matter what gears are in it it shouldnt have a problem at that speed. Pull that tuner off and load the factory tune back in it and see if you have any problems then.

I run 4.10's and love em. I ran a 12.53 @ 109 at tristate with all bolt ons and cams.. Hope this may help. You said a scion was keeping up with you?? How many miles and when was you last tune up? Plugs? Maybe coil packs? Dunno.

First keep in mind that there is an engine builder (ERL) in New Albany, IN that is building some pretty tricked out engines for Scion these days. So don't be surprised by them or any other tuner car based soley on the label.

Do first as Chris states. Reload the factory tune and put the stock air intake back on and take it for a spin. See if anything changes. If it does then you need to reconsider the canned tune you purchased along with your CAI kit, opr contact your provider and have a chat.

Gearing - 05-09 S195 automatic GT mustangs came with 3.31 gears. 5 speed manuals came with 3.55 gears as a rule. To quote a gear head no longer in the area, "Go 4.10 or stay at home with the modular engine unless you are going forced induction." He was right. I went 4.10 on an 02 and it was night and day. The perfect gear for that car running N/A. Several N/A cars on this site in the 05-09 era are running 4.30 gears and have had great success with them. I have retained 355 gearing because I am running a pound or two of boost so to speak;). And don'tconcern yourself with MPG. It will be about the same. In fact on my 02 mustang I picked a bit on efficiency on the highway but gave it back around town. On a trip to North Carolina I averaged 25 MPG with a 4.10 gear conservatively. Good luck.

Last, ask a moderator to move this to the modular or drivetrain section. Technical issues should be there and not in the gneral section. Thanks.

4.10s will be pretty steep with a 5r55 tranny. 3.83s would be nice. A 3v should still pull pretty hard from 80. Try your basic maint stuff first and replace your fuel filter that can limit performance.

Something's not right if you're running out of breath that early. Your engine isn't breathing right. What kind of miles are on the car? Check your fuel and air. Either something's not getting in or something's not getting out. You should pull strong to at least 120mph, even with the stock gears.

I agree that something isn't normal. I can get 60 to 100+ in no time at all with my stock auto tranny.
