My dad recently had RV troubles on his journey from Ohio down to Florida. Finding someone that works on class A motorhomes can be difficult. Well he made a call to Camping World in Chattannooga and they told him to hurry down and they could get it in that day. Basically they had pulled into a rest area for lunch and when they got back on the road they experienced a heavy shake under acceleration or load. He nursed it to the dealer on time and then was told they couldnt get to it. Well I will spare all the details but over the course of the next 6 days they soaked him for 5800 dollars worth of repairs. None of which involved the trans or getting into the engine. They also charged him for a "special" tune up on the engine. They get back on the road and wham....nothing had changed. Disgusted they limped slowly to Florida. After complaining to the headquarters about his problem they hooked him up with a real RV repair shop locally. Turnes out it was a couple spark plugs and ignition problem. Funny thing was that the spark plugs were the originals(they never replaced them). They ended up not having to pay for the second and real repair which was almost 850.00, the rep from Camping World paid for it. Yes the guy at headquarters did try and help some but the service shop in Chattannooga took advantage of the situation and charged them for a full list of things that would have nothing to do with the problem! BEWARE of CAMPING WORLD!

If he paid by credit card tell him to call the card issuer. I wouldn't be surprised if they can't help out with an issue like that.

And $850 for sparkplugs would have been okay? I know it was paid for, but damn.
Sounds like the first party just threw parts at it.

I could put a ford reman motor in an e450 for 5800-wtf was done? Did they refund him anything?
850 may not be bad on the 2nd repair when considering the cost of ignition coils and notorious reputation those motors have for tune up complications.

For that kind of money i'd be taking it to small claims court. That's bullshit especially when you can prove that the "special tune up" didn't even include changing the original plugs to begin with.

In the meantime, I would be finding every single Camping/RV website's forums and tell your story there! Word will get out then!
RV'ers are a very tight knit community that tend to take care and look out for one another. They will not be amused by this story.

I don't know if this site is affiliated with that shop or not.
