i've been going to hunters den for the most part.
i was looking at the 15-22 the other day, they had it listed for $429,
they said they wouldn't deal on it for what they have it priced at, the more expensive stuff they usually will.
i stopped at one shot yesterday, they had the same gun listed for $455.
I told them what it was priced at hnters den for and he said go where you feel comfortable.
in the sceme of things that's about a 7% price difference for the exact same thing.
is that typical with them? who usually has the best prices in the area

One Shot usually has good prices on higher end pistols, 1911s, sig's, H&K's etc. I never wanted or needed a .22lr ar so I have no idea what a good price on one is. Everything ive seen at Hunters has been priced high. Shooters supply in Loveland has the best prices on combat pistols in the 5-800 dollar range.

Beef, id consider a custom Ruger 10/22 over a .22lr AR. More accuracy, learn how to shoot and a great low buck way to get into precision shooting. Unless you rather have a plastic mall ninja toy. LOL.

Vance's in Columbus has the best prices I have seen within an hour. Wear your carry gun cause the neighborhood surrounding them is........seedy. Also do a search for Gun Genie, you can enter the gun your looking for and it will pull up all the local places and what their prices are. The online prices are cheaper most of the time.

how does online ordering work if the dealer is in ohio already, do you still have to have it shipped locally
Walter
01-15-2012, 10:49 AM
Within Ohio, you pay online, you drive there, do paperwork then leave with item. Having an item already in ohio shipped to a local ffl is silly. Only a manufacturer can ship directly to you FYI. To clarify, you cant buy directly from a manufacturer. But you can ship an item to a manufacturer for warranty/repair/upgrades and the manuf. can ship said item directly to you.

I bought a Glock 17 right after Christmas from Target World, they had the best price I could find on a new one. I think it was $449 or so....I forget. It's my first gun!!!

I only deal with Hunters Den and Shooters Supply both are great guys. One Shot and Target world are jerks usually way over priced. Target world recently wanted $50 more than Hunter Den for the exact same gun (Walther PPS).

Best prices are usually found online. Here is a link to Bud's Gunshop, the price listed is a cash, check, money order price. If you pay by credit card they hit you with a 3% fee, but you can always mail them a money order, and that price is shipped to your ffl dealer. Most ffl dealers charge $20 for the transaction, because they have to call the BATF and do the paperwork.

I agree with Walter, if I were going to get a 22lr plinker, it's hard to beat a 10/22. There is a very large and dedicated following for the 10/22. It has been made since 1964, and there are no surprises as to what you are getting. My 10/22t would shoot 1/4" groups @ 25 yards with good ammo. Check out Ruger's website for models and distributor exclusive's, you may find a unique rifle that you like.

If you want a shop to recieve a unit from say Buds and that shop has that model in thier case, they will be reluctant to do your transfer...

We have a place local on the outside of Franklin that I've yet to find a better deal online or in another store. He is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-4. He will sell a DPMS AR15 out the door for 604 the next closest price I've found even at a gun show was over 700. I usually stop down once a week or so if you want to give me the model I can price it for you.
The place is called Guns and Roses  They used the store front to sell flowers in the past.
He also has some of the best prices on ammo.

Terry, I think that the laws are different from long guns to pistols. Id ask next time youre at Shooters to be sure, but I think you can buy long guns from out of state without having it shipped to an FFL

If your just getting a .22 go with the ruger 10/22 you can get kits to make them look like any machine gun and they have 50 round drum mags and a kit to make it shoot like an old gattling gun

The 10/22 can be made to look about any way you want. Check the Ruger link I posted earlier and scroll through some of the factory options. 10/22's aren't the "God's Gift" to firearms, but they are cheap, accurate, reliable, customizable, and fun. Everyone should have at least one 10/22.
Mine is a 10/22T (Target version), which has a factory heavy barrel and laminate stock. It has been upgraded with a Kidd 12oz. trigger, Kidd bolt and bolt knob, and has a Bushnell banner scope.

This is my Dad's 1975 10/22 that has a Green Mountain stainless fluted barrel, a Boyd's tacticool stock, and some trigger upgrades.

Check out Rimfirecentral.com for some ideas and info on anything rimfire. Also check out Gunbroker.com for prices and to find used guns for sale that may have already been upgraded.

If you want rimfire, quit screwing around with those BB guns and get a PSL. Now THAT's a rimfire round.

www.jenamygunshop.com Bob is in Milford on Dry Run and runs a small shop out of his basement. Does gunsmithing and will transfer any gun sale for $20 bucks out the door. He can usually beat or match any local deals and runs some specials. Give him a try.

I came in here to post the same thing. Great prices, he basically does the same thing as you beefcake, presses a couple buttons on the computer in his basement so he can sell the guns wayyy cheaper than a store with overhead  I just ordered a glock through him
