Kil Kare under new ownership

I was on Kil Kares website today and went under changes for 2012 and it said that Kil Kare is no longer owned by the chrysler family, Dave Cottrell from Buckminns D&D is new owners.

January 3, 2012- As many fans, owners and Racers have heard there has been a change in the majority ownership of the facility. After 30 years of ownership of the majority of Kil-Kare Inc. the Chrysler family has sold their portions of the company. Dave Cottrell of Buckminn’s D&D Harley Davidson. Dave purchased the family’s interests in the company and will look to a great first season at the internationally renowned facility. One of the changes that is being made for the upcoming 2012 season will be that Kil-Kare will not return to the NASCAR Family for the 60th year of operations at the track. Weekly Speedway and Dragway racing as well as Thursday Test and Tunes will continue as they always have at Kil-Kare. Rules and schedules for the upcoming 2012 season are being finalized at this time, and should be available soon. Everyone at Kil-Kare would like to thank the Chrysler Family for their involvement in the facility for many years, and their dedication to local racing in our community. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing, At the Track Rental they had, that Guy was an AssHole! I know you cant judge someone from only one meeting but he made himself look really bad that day!
He was walking around yelling at people to leave if they had never bought anything from him or Jeff at Precision. Threatening them and cursing like a dunkn Ass Hole! I could understand if he was mad that people were taking an advantage of them for the free drag racing but you don't act like that. If he had done that to me i prob would have used his face for track prep right there in the staging lanes.

Yea, then the very next week for track rental round two he made sure he got his way. I think he will drive it stright in to the ground. I hope not.

He was in a pissy mood from what happened with his car in the pits... His anger came out sideways.. It happens .. Not his best moment I'm sure, and I'm sure he would appologize to everyone. Good things are coming for sure!

It has wilwood brakes and one of his guys changed the front brake pads and didn't tighter the wheel. He pulled in the trailer and it broke the whole wheel hub assembly. (he was pretty heated)

Yes it does happen but that was the first time I've met him and that's the point if view he gave me. Hope good things do happen out there, it's nice having a local track

I grew up at kilkare but for a while there things had gotten pretty bad. So hopefully things turn around.

Ed did a lot of good things for the racers and the track that year. Hopefully things start going in the right direction again with the new ownership.

I heard Evil8 bought Kilkare and is turning it into a trailer park/drag strip for him and other mullet wearing hillbillys can meet and greet and race their irocs and berlinettas together and be one big family....

a guy at work told me yesterday that it was already under construction. he said they are tearing up the track to redo it. he also said this guy is making a buch of changes that he thinks will be better.

Rick Nelson left after 2010 and didn't return for various reasons. The Chryslers did it on their own in 2011. I will be conducting an interview with the new ownership group and will post it for you guys on SBZ.
