Anyone do hardwood installation?

I need some repair, as maybe some additional wood laid. I have existing oak in the kitchen. During a counter install, had to cut back some wall, which left an opening in hardwood that needs repaired.

In addition, I was interested in maybe adding some around the counter bar area, replacing the existing carpet.

I can e mail pics...trying to upload but it keeps giving me an error code.

How big is the opening and do you have extra flooring or know of a pretty close match? I got a buddy that does good work for fair prices I can ask if he's interested. Where are you located?

Independence. (Says that in my location!) Only a small piece, 6inches. I have no wood, but it's common oak found anywhere.
