So my Son pops on me at the last minute that he wants a M16 replica air soft gun. Anyone have any experience with these? He is 14 and has experience with BB Guns and has shot my 10/22 on occasion. I have no idea where to even start looking that would be worth my time since there are guns ranging from 30-500. Trying to keep it in the 60-70 range if possible since we spent a boat load on him already. Damn kids!! :coo1:
Or if anyone has a cool one they want to get rid of let me know too. Doesnt need a box, I can trick him and put it in the gun cabinet and have him take a look at my new gun on Xmas morning. hehe

Definitely but I can't see spending a fortune when he wont be using it for competition or such. It'll be a backyard plinker basically. Found some made by Crosman. I know their BB guns are decent so I figure they make some okay Airsoft guns?

I had an echo1 a few years back to shoot at the raccoons that were invading my trash cans for weeks. Good quality for the price. Try craigslist

Already picked up a automatic Crosman and a Colt rifle/pistol combo. They got good reviews so we will see.

dpciwholesale.com has tons of them, they have dirt cheap ones and better ones. I bought some for my nephews over the summer and the cheap ones didn't last long but the more expensive ones did well. The down side is I would rather them have a weak but durable one. I let them shoot each other as long as they have safety glasses on with the weak ones, but the good ones hit pretty hard.

Do you think safety glasses stop everything? Twice I've gotten something in my eye wearing them. A few months ago I was grinding with glasses and a face shield and still ended up with a scratched eye. Your asking for one of them to lose a eye. Hope you can live with that when it happens.

Yeah theres no way Im letting my kids shoot each other with them unless they have the whole face masks on. Those plastic BB's still move way too fast for my liking. Something like 280 fps for the one Automatic one I just bought.

lmao mwaller......i had a pump shotgun airsoft that hit really hard....when u would shoot it too far the bb would just turn and go straight up in the air like it was going to space.can anyone explain this?lol
it is called "hop up". they put back spin on them to increase the range.

I have a Swith&Wesson pistol that cost like $35 and for a non co2 gun...that damn thing shoots hard. It will shoot through pop boxes all day long. Its also came with 2 clips wich are really easy to load.

I got my son the m16 and pistol combo at Dicks. It was 99 bucks. He will enjoy it.

No safety glasses certainly don't stop everything but with kids they keep the crying to a minimum. The weak guns shoot the plastic pellets at about the rate you could sling them with a rubber band, they aren't going to put an eye out with those and I also made them agree to not shoot at each others face. It's not like we didn't shoot each other with daisy BB guns as kids....

:rolleyes:Heck if you did it when you was a kid then it should be fine. Asking them not to shoot each other in the face.well your double covered

lol, yeah it just stops them from coming to me crying about it, these are 11 & 14 year old kids not 6. You can try to stop them all you want but they're going to end up shooting each other. If I catch them without their glasses on and the gun in their hand I take the guns away and they know it. It has happened a couple times but they played with them all summer with no incidents. They manage to make the most trouble fighting with each other still.

Thanks for taking this correctly. After I put this on teasingly of course I sounded like a jerk but didn't mean to.
