I just got done assembling the set up in my sig an I'm getting ready to take it an get it tuned I'm afraid the 9lbs of boost isnt goin to get me what I'm looking for so I'm thinking about bumping it up to 12lbs of boost do you guys think my motor will handle 12lbs it was assembled with arp headbolts an fel pro 1101 headgaskets I think that's the part number I will have to look for sure so let me here the opinions on leaving it alone or bump up the boost I want mid 11s out of the car not to concerned with HP but would like to see 400rwhp

400 rwhp should get you low 11's if you have the car hooking decent (low 1.5 to high 1.4 60's) and isn't to heavy.

last year with Hoosier 26-8.5 slicks the car weighs 3230 with me in it an was pulling 1.71 sixtys on the Hoosier's an lowering springs so it should hook alot better now I would think it has the competition engineering 90/10 fronts an 50/50 rears with moroso drag springs front an rear an weight jacker lower control arms just installed for next season

I don't think those head gaskets are all that boost friendly. We usually run the felpro 9333pt-1 or cometic head gaskets.

so would you stay with 9lbs i read on some other forums that they recommended them thats why i got them i hope they hold thats the last thing i need is head gasket issues

I wouldn't push the envelope without talking to your tuner first.

i would be concerned with the head gaskets on any boost but maybe you will get lucky i didnt. before my 331 i got up to about 370hp with 13lbs of boost. are you running an auto or manual trans?

I'm running a manual what kind of head gaskets are you running on your car that your getting it to hold now

9333pt1 that was mentioned above. But they don't last very long if you going to change them get the come tics and call it a day. I'm going to run them next year, I'm tired of replacing them.

I hear you there that's what I don't want to have to be doin is changing head gaskets constantly when you made 370hp was your set up the same as you have now minus the 331 bottom end an what was your et times at 370

i had 30lbs injectors, EDL performer intake, auto trans then switched to a manual. auto times were 13.20s and manual was high 11s low 12s. that was with shitty 60s.

I'm running 42lb ones with gt40s an I'm still debating on e85 I hear you can run more boost safer with it but that don't solve the head gasket issue

Thanks for that info looks like I mite just go ahead an switch as a precaution because I can't stand having to worry about something but in performance application there's always that chance

I will check them out for the 9333 what about the MLS gaskets someone also told me that Anderson recommends a gasket that claim they have seen 24 lbs of boost its like a fp23 something like that it seems like an awful lot of boost

get the car running, put a stelth 340 intank in it and take it to adam at s& M he is a vendor on here. My car is a 5.0 stock block with forged stock pistons and gt40 heads, trick flow cam, and systemax intake made 541 to the wheels on 15lbs, no special head gasket, all in your tune

what is your static compression? I ran a cheap set of felpros on my car pushing 20 lbs of boost and didn't have any issues...but I also have an o-ring block and 8.3:1 comp. I will have to say I talked to felpro directly and they don't have any gaskets for a o-ringed block and this time around I am running copper from flat out gasket company. I really think that alot of the head gasket issues can be traced to the mating surface...if the block and heads are perfectly flat and a quality gasket is installed and torqued correctly prob. about 85% of the worries go away. The best gasket in the world will still have issues on a warped head or unclean mounting surface and improper torquing. Good luck with your goals

i ve been looking at those cometic head gaskets.. are they a hundred bucks each good? im not opposed to spending the money, just wondering if anyone has run them. im about to re do mine, and as a matter of fact im taking the block and heads in to have the deck checked too. does it matter with the head gaskets that im o-ringed? ... also running trick flow heads if it matters. i just ended up with a coolant leak (2nd cyl. rt. side)..pushing coolant out the head gasket so its gettin torn down.

i ran 9333PT1 on my old 89 with 15 pounds of boost, no problems out of them and there cheap and most auto parts stores have them in stock.

do these 9333pt1 gaskets work with o ringed heads then, or do i need a special gasket or a plain copper gasket like rollingthunder? my trickflow are o ringed..
