Ok so im going to do a private sale on a hand gun. does the seller have to be present when you apply for ffl transfer??

I'm pretty sure you don't need a ffl to do a private sale. Just make sure that the buyer is from the same state as you and over 21.

Also ask if he's legally aloud to buy a fire arm. There was a sting going on armslist.com or some sit.

No, the seller doesn't need to be present. Like they said, If neither of you are felon's, and both are OHIO residents, you don't need to do a transfer. You are not legally required to to transfer every gun you own or buy into your name. Only if you buy new, or used guns from an FFL dealer.
