I will admit I do like the Capris a bit more than the Stangs. My first fox was a '82 Capri RS, black on black t-top 4spd. I loved it until the day I had to sell it. I would like to acquire another Capri in the near future. Is there any other Capri guys/gals out there? Please post pics!

My '80 Capri was my first venture into Ford ownership. Before that, I was a GM guy. I had just parted company with a '78 Trans Am, which was the worst made car I ever owned and I decided to try going to Ford. I bought a new '80 Capri, baby blue, 4 cyl, 4 speed with TRX suspension package. I absolutely loved that little car. I have been a Ford guy ever since. :)

Great thread that brings back some OLD memories! :bigthumb
My 1st car was actually a 73 Capri. Yes, that is a 1973. It had a 2.6L German V6 with a whopping 110HP. This was the predacessor to the 2.8L V6 that was used for many years by Ford. This engine had solid lifters that you could run the piss out of!
Looked a lot like this one below. Mine was dark brown w/black vinyl top (and sunroof) and tan interior.

.
I thought it would be "cool" to put DUAL exhaust on it. I put straight pipes on it with 4 foot 3" dia chrome pipes (under the axle). Talk about sounding like pure SHIT! Oh! Too be young and stupid! :D
It was a great car until it got totalled! Some chick lost control of her Maverick and slammed me into the cement retaining wall at 65MPH. I had to escape out the Sunroof!

My 2nd Capri was a 1979 RS edition. Fire engine red w/yellow and orange RS strips, flat black hood scoop and a black "houndstooth" interior. It had the 2.8L V6 and an auto trans.
I thought I could make it faster by swapping out the 3.08 rear end with a 3.45 rearend. It made it about a 0.1 sec faster. :bigthumb I remember taking it to Keystone (now Pittsburgh) Raceway. Ran a blazing 16.9 sec in the 1/4.
I have to get pics of it scanned and posted up here.
Looked a lot like this one....
