no. there should still be pressure down below where the sensor is. Did you put a mechanical gauge on it yet to determine no pressure or are you going off the stock one?

either have a blockage down below or the pump isn't pushing what it should. Taking the reading from the stock sensor gives you direct pressure from the pump. doing a head gasket swap shouldn't drop your pressure like it did.

would you recommend just changing the oil pump or do you have to prime these?

Whats the reason you had the heads gone through? Did ya just take them off the motor in the car? May want to check the pickup tube just incase its clogged. And maybe pop off a main and rod cap while your at it to check the bearings.

Can you mess something up, with the tensioners?
Just a thought.

Usually you dont take the heads off to be just gone through. Usually theres a reason they have to be taken off to be gone through. Was there a issue with them? Cam seize up in them?

Like Jim said check the pick up if you can. If you blocked the oil passages to the head then it would make a hell of a noise. As for priming no. Once you put the heads back on just pour some oil on them and your done. Now if it was a fresh build then yes a prime would help.

Were the heads disassembled? Did all the plugs get put back in the correct places?

that was my question too. I bet there is a plug missing, if it isn't leaking it has to be behind the timing cover.

Yeah there are a few things that could cause that. Oil plugs on the front of the heads behind the cover (Since you don't have oil coming out the back) there are also a few 1/8 plugs here and there that need to be in place or you will just bleed off oil psi.

its a customer car that came in. i believe they were leaking antifreeze so the customer took the heads to monarch and when we got them back they had put the intake cam in the exhaust cam spot. so then had them come up and make it right so there is a good chance that there might be plugs missing.
