Okay this is probably a stupid question but I figured Id ask to get the general consensus on what should be used. Our new house has many concrete and brick walls throughout and we were wondering what is the best way to put a nail or screw up to hang pictures and such. I figured there are quite a few on here that have dealt with this so I asked.

Try tapcons. I have always had good luck with those....they come with a bit, and in all kinds of sizes.

You need a hammer drill obviously...I have one you can borrow if you need one.

Tapcon also. Or if its a big pick you can get a metal version of what looks like a drywall ancor and it is threaded for a bolt in the middle. I have a bunch of them that take 1/4 20 bolts.

If the pictures aren't too big/heavy, just use some of those 3m stick on hangers. That's what I used in college on the brick walls and they did the trick, plus you can just pull them off if you want to move/remove a picture and there is no hole in the brick/concrete afterwards.

They also make specific brick picture anchors. They pressure fit over the edges of the brick and grab tightly. I have found they work best on brick faces that have 1/4-1/2 inch exposed. I got them at a local Bargain Outlet store.

Hey thanks for the info guys. A few are small but I have some big ones to be hung up that are pretty heavy and I was figuring I'd have to use some type of anchoring setup.

Ha don't think the wife would be too happy with that one. Also don't think the mirrors and bigger items would stay up.
