I agree. The new routing will lower the center of gravity of the new bike, and also take away the 'cheek toasters' of the previous version. The excessive heat to the backside was the major complaint that people had about riding them. The new version will be more user friendly because of that.
Also, the valve adjustment interval has been doubled. That's an expensive maintenance are of the Ducati's. That will reduce the cost of ownership.
So far, I don't see any negatives about the 1199 Panigale, other than I don't have one!!!

I'd take that S in a heartbeat! As for naked, they make this thing called a Monster. It has your name written all over it lol. Duc's are a work of art. I dont think I would wanna change anything at all. It makes my pants feel funny!

ducati's are like sex on wheels . If you cant get laid on one of those , you should just turn gay. Ever since the 1098 , i have been in love with there bikes , but you cant forget the one that started it all , the 916.

Ahh, the 916. Probably one of the most uncomfortable bikes on earth, but man what a ride! BUt, that isint exactly the bike that started it all, they have been building sweet machines for decades!

I will clarify then , the bike that started that dual headlight look that everyone else copied.

The 916 was built from 1994 to 1998. Suzuki had a dual headlight WAY before then; it was called a 1985 GSXR1100. I like dual headlight bikes and I certainly like the 1199 Panigale. :D

Beautiful bike would love to have one but holy shit the price is alittle up there
"Prices will run $17,995 for the standard version, $22,995 for the āS,ā $23,995 for āSā version with ABS and $27,995 for the Italian heritage-inspired Tricolore version."

Wow an extra 4k for a decal package?
It's more than a decal package, but it is a VERY expensive upgrade. It would be nice to have the decal package without the hardware. Of course, Ducati knew that and tried to lure the buying public up the sales tier.
According to Ducati's website, the S Tricolore has "The distinctive model carries the same equipment as the S version with the addition of the new generation DDA+ with special GPS lap time function as well as a titanium racing muffler kit* by Ducati Performance."
DDA is 'Ducati Data Analyzer'. It is a factory installed data acquisition system. Even the basic versions that are generic to any bike are expensive. Add the GPS lap timer and titanium mufflers...+ Ducati prices for cool equipment = $$$$.

Very Nice rolling piece of art. I rode a 916 once my back still hurts. I allways wanted Duck. BTW keep your SV do the math on the maintance and cost on Ducati Cam belts and valve adjustments and it will make you sad.

Ducati recognized that and double the valve adjustment interval. The new Desmo system is stronger than the old one, and the 1199 now has a cam chain instead of a cam belt. The chain will last forever.
Ducati is trying very hard to remove the negatives of owning a Ducati. The cost will always be high. Even if a Testarossa was as reliable as a Camry, the price would always be several times higher, just as Ferarri wants it to be. That way, they can claim 'exclusivity'.

Mike, TZ250 is my brother Rob.
Rob, Mike W. is Mike Wells, who I used to work with, and you used to deal with when he worked @ Comp. Acc.
Just figured I would fill you in who each other are on here. Both of you being bike guys and all.
